Table Top pro model 9 + 9 Hammer Dulcimer made in the UK using European species timber.
This model is an upmarket version of the classic Table Top model. It is an 18 course instrument with a smaller size and has a range closer in style to the Renaissance dulcimers and Iranian santur. It has a good volume for its size. The instrument comes with black and white colour coded Delrin bridge tops. It works really well as a melody instrument in ensemble and is a good introduction the the dulcimer layout and world.
Strings are tied individually so if you break a string you will still have one to play on. The soundboard has a rippled Maple edgebinding. Protecting the edge and looking magnificent. Felt is applied to the sides to damp the string edges.
Despite it being a small instrument it is still capable of some incredible music. Drummers in particular often instantly bond with dulcimers.
A handle cut into the back allows for easy manouvering. It is fitted with rubber feet which allows the bottom of the instrument to resonate even when on a table.
